  • A Cuban Entry Visa is required for all US Citizens traveling on a passport issued by the United States. 

    All travelers must have a valid passport. Passports must not expire within 6 months of your arrival in Cuba. Passports must have at least 2 blank pages for entry and exit stamps. A passport photo page coply is reuired to submit this application (see below). The Cuban Government retains the right to grant or deny visas.

  • Passport Photo Page Copy: Provide a clear, high-resolution color scan of the passport's biodata page (photo page)

    • Ensure the passport copy is valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay
    • Ensure that fingers are not obstructing any part of the passport copy
    • Avoid any glare or shadows that may obscure the content on the biometric page
    • It is recommended to scan the passport copy
    • Ensure that all information, such as passport number, name, date of birth, and photograph, are clearly legible.

  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Compliance

    Travel to Cuba for tourist activities remains prohibited by statute for US Citizens. However, the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued general licenses for 12 categories of travel. Section 515.564(a)(1)authorizes travel for professional research and professional meetings (one of the 12 categories of licensed Travel to Cuba). Your Delegation qualifies under the General License for Professional Research and Exchange.  

    In addition to the required Cuba Entry Visa, you are required to complete the Cuba Travel Certiciation, certifying compliace with the requirement that all participants on the Citizen Ambassador Program are either a professional in the field (active or retired) or an accompanying guest of a qualified professional.
